Review: SKIN&LAB Red Serum

Hi Everyone!

Today, I will be reviewing a very popular skincare product, known as the Red Serum by Skin & Lab. I bought mine from Yesstyle.com about a year ago. Currently (December 2019), Yesstyle is have a "Quantity Discount" of 60% OFF for the Red Serum, making it cheaper than usual. After reading my review, if you want to try it out yourself, I will have a link below.
However, Yesstyle is constantly have things on sale, so if you don't get it now, there are always other times throughout the year that the Red Serum will be on sale.

The Red Serum actually also has a sister product, known as the Red Cream. I will review this cream later on.

I've used Skin&Lab products before, but this was the first time I would use their serum. I had heard many amazing things about this serum. It's highly reviewed on multiple websites, especially being known for it's hydration properties.

This highly concentrated serum contains Red extracts, which boosts the main circulation of the skin and protects from the external free radicals. The multitude of red ingredients including pomegranate, raspberry, cloudberry, blueberry, acai berry and lycium. It also includes wild yam, sweet almond seed, witch hazel, allantoin and licorice extract.
With all these amazing ingredients, this serum firms, brightens, revitalizes and moisturizes skin for a more youthful look.

This phyto red complex, AKA the Red extracts are used as a "color therapy" to protect the skin from oxidation and keeps your face looking young and healthy. This complex contains Lycopene and Ellagic Acid, which are well-known red ingredients that are found in abundance in red colored fruits. They prevent from oxidizing, resist against collagen damage and protect skin.

Phyto Red Complex:
  • Pomegranate: giving radiance and vitalizing
  • Raspberry: firming and moisturizing
  • Cloudberry: soothing and protecting
  • Blueberry: prevent from oxidizing

  • Skin with less radiance and dull texture
  • Skin with imbalanced oil/Moisture level

How I Use It:
I use this serum both morning and night after I have applied my toner and essence. I like to dot my face with it, at my forehead, both cheeks and chin. I gently massage and tap the serum into my skin, allowing it to absorb it fully. Then I continue with the rest of my skincare routine, usually going on next with my face cream.

Below are a series of photos of me using the Red Serum over a period of time
May 25
BEFORE                                              AFTER
My skin feels moisturized and smooth. It feels less tight.
You can see the serum is clear and colorless. It's watery, but has some body to it.
 BEFORE                                                                 AFTER
My skin feels more moisturized. It gives my skin a dewy look, which is more apparent at the apple of my cheeks because it looks more shiny there.
JUNE 5
Please excuse the weird close-up pictures of my nose. I had just exfoliated my skin this day and as you can see, I have dry skin on my nose. After using the serum, my skin felt and looked less dry, but there were still some dry skin flakes.
JUNE 27
BEFORE                                                           AFTER
Again, my skin feel moisturized and smooth. It creates this dewy canvas on the skin.
BEFORE                                                            AFTER
I don't know if you can see, but my skin and pores feel and look less tight after applying the serum.

Overall, I really liked this serum! I actually went through 2 full bottles of it.
*Spoiler Alert: I also really like the Red Cream!*

For people who like that "Glass Skin" look, this serum is perfect for that! It really moisturizes your skin, providing immense hydration and creates a dewy, shiny skin look. Perfect for achieving that Glass Skin, translucent look.

I would recommend this serum for everyone to try, however, I do think people with DRY SKIN will really enjoy this serum. If you have OILY SKIN like me, while you can use it during hotter seasons, I would recommend more towards the winter time. Because it is deeply hydration and does create that dewy skin look, you almost feel like you've produced extra oils after a few hours. I just feel like my glass slipped down my nose more easily when I was using this serum. It's not a bad thing and it's not something I wold count against this serum.

As I mentioned earlier, there is a fragrance to this serum. It has a beautiful Jasmine smell. I absolutely love the smell of jasmine. I even have my own jasmine plant at home and I love taking the flower the fall and rubbing the petals onto my skin to give me a sort of natural perfume. However, some people are sensitive to fragrance or just don't like the feel of jasmine or floral smells in general, so please beware!

I wouldn't say I noticed a change in my wrinkles or fine lines, but this wasn't a big deal to me. At the time, I knew my skin target of using this serum was for the hydration factor.
It's suppose to help with whitening the skin, brightening, and even with evening out discoloration. I'm not really sure it did much for my discoloration, but I do feel like there was a brightening change to my skin, but honestly, it's really minimal.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really liked this serum and I would definitely recommend everyone give it a try! I've already used 2 full bottles of it and I'm sure to buy more in the future.
