Review: COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch

Hi Everyone!

Today I will be reviewing the COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch.
When I first started using pimple patches, I was using the brand Nexcare. I had first encountered pimple patches during my summer vacation in Taiwan wayyyy back in 2011. Back then, pimple patches were essentially unheard of in the US, so it was super hard to find and whenever I went back to Taiwan of someone I knew was going back, I would buy a bunch in bulk or ask someone to buy it for me.

Pimple patches are a great way to cover your troubled acne areas, protecting them from external factors as well as physical touch. I am as much as guilty as anyone else who likes to pop their pimples or are constantly touching them. Which is why these patches are great because it can prevent you from causing your acne to get worse.

Pimple patches are mostly made out of hydrocolloid which is often using in treating and healing wounds. Hydrocolloid patches protect pimples from secondary infections and prevent them from further swelling. These patches cover the affected area and absorb excess sebum to promote rapid healing of the pimple.

These COSRX pimple patches are waterproof. They help to protect acne from infection and help extract impurities overnight while encouraging healthy skin hydration. They are designed to reduce redness and inflammation, while also helping to reduce scarring by promoting healing.
These patches can be placed on top of whiteheads, blackheads, and picked pimples.

There are a TOTAL of 24 pimple patches.
10 patches of 7mm
5 patches of 10mm
9 patches of 12mm

They aren't exactly clear, more of a yellow-ish tone color to it. They are thin, but compared to the Wishtrend pimple patches, they are much thicker.

Full Ingredients ListCellulose Gum, Styrene Isoprene Styrene Block Copolymer, Polyisobutylene, Petroleum Resin, Polyurethane Film, Liquid Paraffin, Tetrakis Methane

How To Use:
Wash and dry the targeted area you want to treat. Don't apply any skin treatments or moisturizers between the patch and your skin.
Choose a patch size to do the job and stick it on the pimple you want to get rid of.
Remove in the morning.

How I Use It:
I use these pimple either morning and night, just whenever I feel like a certain pimple needs extra help. I do wear these pimple patches outside, but mostly it's because I don't really care if people see me with these patches on.
I apply it onto CLEAN skin. So either after I've washed my face in the morning or after my shower at night. Do NOT apply any sort of skincare before you use these pimple patches. You want completely clear, clean and dry skin.
I try to be efficient with how I use these patches. So if I have a pimple area that are pretty close together, I would take the BIGGER sized patch to try and encompass as much as possible instead of giving individual patches to each pimple.
It's completely up to you on how you want to use your patches, I just like to keep these as long as possible and not have to constantly buy them.
I leave them on either overnight or all day till night when I shower, then I just remove and discard them.
There is NO rule on how many you need to use or how to use them. If you want to use them on your arms, back or chest, then you can!

BELOW are pictures of my trying out these pimple patches. If you don't want to see any closeup pictures of the extracted sebum on the pimple patches, then just go to the bottom to read my final thoughts.

First, I'm showing you how these patches worked on a deep and painful pimple that I had right at the opening of my nose. It was one of those deep pimples that hadn't surfaced yet and are painful when you accidentally touch them.
Here's a before shot of the pimple. The area is really red and inflamed.

I decided to use the SMALL sized pimple patch on it.

This is how the pimple patch looked the morning after. You can see it had taken out some of of the sebum from that deep pimple.

This is how my pimple looked AFTER taking the pimple patch off. I know it looks kind of shiny around the area, but that's just because of the skincare I had surround the area from the night before. You can see there's a HUGE difference in appearance of the pimple. Reduced in size, redness and inflammation.

This was the final result of the pimple patch. You can see the white on the patch, this is the sebum that was extracted out of the pimple!

This is me using the pimple patches on my right cheek. I forgot to take a before picture of how my cheek looked before I used the pimple patch. But you cans see the extracted sebum on the patch. I was using the MEDIUM sized pimple patches on my cheek.

\
These are closeup pictures of the pimple patches that were on my cheek. You can clearly see the white (sebum) that was extracted out.

AFTER
This is how my cheek looks after removing the pimple patches. You can actually see the outline of where the patches were on my cheek. The area is less red and less raised as well.

Below are pictures of me using these pimple patches on some little bumps/acne in between my eye area.
BEFORE
This is how the targeted area looked before applying the pimple patch. It's just a bunch of little bumps/acne-bumps. They were red and raised. It's more near the front of my left eyebrow, then in between my eyes.

I have applied the BIG/LARGE pimple patch to the area. You can see that I used a bigger pimple patch so that it covered more surface area. This way I wouldn't have to waste more patches by using individual ones for each individual bump/acne.

AFTER
This is how the pimple patch looks the next morning. you can see it extracted sebum.

This is a closeup of how the patch looked. You can see there are little sebum white dots as well as that one bug sebum dot. Meaning it extracted sebum from multiple areas all around that the patch touched.

AFTER
This is how my targeted acne area looked after removing the patch. You can see the area is much LESS raised and not as red either.
You can also see the imprint of where the pimple patch was located.

Overall, I really like these pimple patches.

I was using these before I got the ones from Wishtrend. If I had to compare the 2, I actually prefer the Wishtrend pimple patches, but they're just wayyyy to expensive for me for 1 pack, especially since I buy my pimple patches in bulk so they're much cheaper.

If I didn't have to worry about money or cost, I would pick the Wishtrend ones over these COSRX ones because the Wishtrend ones give MORE patches, are THINNER, are CLEARER, and I just feel like they extracted more as well.

However, the COSRX ones are JUST AS GOOD and still worth buying. I know COSRX has come out with multiple newer types of pimple patches, but I haven't tried them because they cost more and give less, so in my opinion it's not worth buying.

These pimple patches really do help with reducing redness and inflammation on acne areas. I notice a big difference the next day whenever I use them. However, since they are a little thicker, they leave an imprint on your skin when you have them on for a while. Also, since they aren't exactly clear colored, they are kind of noticeable on the skin.
