Review: Dear, Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA++++

(Sorry for not the great photo quality. I forgot to take a better picture of the packaging and I have already thrown away the bottle)

Hi Everyone,
Summer time is almost here, so we all need to be protecting our skin with some good sunscreen. Today, I will be reviewing one of my favorite sunscreens and it's from Dear, Klairs.

Originally, I got this sunscreen from 08Liter.com as part of their TRY NOW, where you pay a discounted price of $3.99 and get to try a product out in return for an honest review. After I used this sunscreen, I loved it SO MUCH that I went a bought 2 MORE by myself and have already finished them!

I have tried the other Dear, Klairs sunscreen, it's the Mid-day Blue Sun Lotion SPF 40 PA++. You can see my review of this sunscreen by clicking on the link above. Overall, I was not impressed with this original blue sunscreen at all. I didn't like it and I hated using it.
When I saw that Klairs came out with a new sunscreen, I was a little skeptical at first, but I decided I wanted to give it a try anyways and I'm so glad I did!

The Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence SPF 50 PA++++ sunscreen is an everyday sunscreen for sensitive skin. It's water-based and has a gel-like texture to give it a soft weightless feel on the skin and a light finish. Since it has a high SPF and PA level, it completely guards the skin against both UVA and UVB sun rays without leaving any greasiness/oiliness or white-cast.

This is a CHEMICAL sunscreen. Chemical sunscreens absorb into your skin and then when you are out in the sun, the UV rays gets absorbs into your skin as well. These UV rays will be converted into heat and released from your body. Typical active ingredients in chemical sunscreens are: avobenzone, octinoxate and oxybenzone.

Since this is a water-based sunscreen, it is non-sticky, light, and fresh. It also absorbs much more easily into your skin, and also much more quickly.

Contains ingredients that help to brighten, hydrate, and protect skin.
  • Hippophae Rhamnoides oil (Sea Buckthorn Oil): helps to supply the skin with moisture
  • Tocopherol: an antioxidant that fights against free radicals found in the skin
  • Panthenol, Beta-Glucan, and Allantoin: soothes and relieves skin irritations
  • Niacinamide: skin brightening agent and helps to brighten the overall skin tone
Recommended for:
  • People who have sensitive skin
  • People who want light, non-sticky sunscreen
  • People who don't want a white-cast after application
NOTE: This sunscreen DOES contain alcohol! Specifically, Cetearyl Alcohol. If you are allergic or sensitive to alcohol in skincare products, then please beware.

This is NOT a waterproof sunscreen!!! If you know you will be sweating a lot or going into water, then use a DIFFERENT sunscreen!!! Or you can use this sunscreen and apply another waterproof one on top for extra protection if you would like.

GREAT FOR ALL SKIN TYPES AND SKIN COLORS!

How To Use:
Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure and at the end of your skincare routine. Thoroughly apply to the skin.

How I Use It:
I use this sunscreen at the end of my skincare routine if I am leaving the house right away in the morning. If I am leaving later and not right away, then I usually like to apply it about 10 - 15 minutes before I leave the house so that it can fully be activated and absorbed into my skin.
A little sunscreen goes a  long way! I like to dot my face with the sunscreen little by little and then gently rub it in.

Below of some pictures of me testing out the sunscreen.

Here's a swatch of what the sunscreen looks like. It's an off-white color. Creamy and gel-like in texture.

I feel like you honestly can't even tell that I just put sunscreen on! I do see a brightening effect on my skin! It's more apparent on my cheekbones.

Again, I feel like you can't even tell that I have sunscreen on. It's so lightweight, smooth, and absorbs in really quickly! Again, you can see my skin is brighter, being more evident on my cheekbone area. My pores don't look or feel clogged and my face doesn't look oily or feel greasy afterwards.

Overall, I LOVE this sunscreen!!!
As I stated earlier, I have already bought 2 more of this sunscreen and finished them! This means I have already used THREE bottles on this AMAZING sunscreen!!!!

Since I have oily skin, I'm really picky about my sunscreens, because I hate the ones that cause me to become more oily later on in the day. However, this sunscreen doesn't do that at all! I like to do a "glasses test," where after I apply sunscreen, I see throughout the day whether or not my glasses will slip down my nose. Whenever a sunscreen is too greasy or causes me to produce too many oils, my glasses will slip down my nose really easily and also really quickly! However, if a sunscreen is good, my glasses will stay in place all day and I never have to worry about my glasses slipping and pushing them up again. I am happy to report that this sunscreen has PASSED the glasses test!

It is extremely lightweight. I honestly don't even feel like I'm applying sunscreen on at all. Maybe it can sort of be compared to as applying like an emulsion lotion, which is just consider a light lotion. It just goes on so smoothly and it absorbs in really quickly too. It's not a chore to rub in to your skin and since there's NO WHITE-CAST, you don't have to worry about any white streaks, making this sunscreen perfect for any skin color and any skin type!

I think the only downside to this sunscreen is that it is NOT waterproof. I really wish it were because if it was then this would honestly be one of my all time absolute favorite sunscreens of all time. It still is a favorite sunscreen of mine, but it might be lowered down a few notches because it isn't waterproof.

I would absolutely buy more of this sunscreen in the future.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I LOVE this sunscreen and I definitely recommend everyone try it out! It's amazing and it works so well. It is extremely expensive, especially if you can get it on sale from places such as Yesstyle.com.
