Review: Acwell Bubble Free pH Balancing Cleanser

Hi Everyone!

I recently finished this cleanser and wanted to share my thoughts on it with you.

I first saw this cleanser on Sokoglam.com, however it's like $21, so I felt like that was a steep price to pay for just any old facial cleanser, so I decided to wait it off until somewhere else had it on sale.
In the end, I bought this cleanser from Yesstyle.com along with a whole bunch of other stuff.

This is a gentle cleanser with a acidic pH of 5.5, any pH under 7 is considered acidic. It is made with centella, aloe, and witch hazel to hydrate, calm, and brighten the skin after each wash. Licorice root extract is a star ingredient that Acwell likes to use and it can also brighten the skin. Salicylic acid is added to help keep breakouts at bay.

Beneficial Ingredients:
  • Centella Extract: Skin calming & Brightening effect
  • Aloe Leaf Juice: Soothing effect
  • Witch Hazel Extract: Pore-tightening effect
  • Uni-triethanol: Balancing excessive sebum

Soothing Effectives:
  • Wild Yam: soothing
  • The Root of Arrowroot: purifying
  • Peony Extract: protecting
  • Licorice: brightening

It is a bubble FREE cleanser, meaning it doesn't foam or bubble when massaged around, even with water added. It's a really REALLY gentle cleanser, said to be able to remove makeup and dirt.

Good For:
  • Brightening
  • Hydrating
  • Soothing
  • Healing
  • Redness Reduction
  • Exfoliating
  • Antioxidant

I really like the bottle because the pump has a locking mechanism, this way if I am traveling around with this cleanser, I don't have to worry about a leaking problem. Below is a picture of the top of the pump, you can see that there's an arrow that tells you which way to turn to unlock the pump.

How To Use:
~To use as a 1st cleanser: Dispense 2 to 3 pumps and gently massage onto dry, uncleansed face. Wipe away with clean cloth or rinse with lukewarm water.
~To use as a 2nd cleanser: Dispense 2 pumps and create a lather by rubbing between wet hands. Apply onto wet face and massage gently. Rinse odd thoroughly with lukewarm water.

How I Use It:
I use this as a morning facial cleanser. I first wet my face, then I pump it 2 times into my hands and dab the cleanser on my forehead, cheeks, and chin, then I massage the cleanser around on my face. I rinse off with warm water.

1 pump of cleanser. It's clear, thick, gel like consistency.

Rubbing the cleanser around. You can still see the eyeliner is present underneath the cleanser, there's no mascara present anymore. No bubbles or foam is made.

Overall, the cleanser did it's job on removing the makeup, but as a face cleanser, I can't say that I really like this cleanser at all.
It's so gentle to the point that it almost feels like my face isn't getting cleaned at all. I use 2 pumps every time, but sometimes I'm even tempted to use 3 or 4 pumps just to feel like I am actually cleansing my face. As a person with oily skin, I don't like having a cleanser that is suppose to give me clean skin and does NOT give me the feeling that I do have clean skin... does that make sense???
My skin doesn't feel dry after using this cleanser, maybe even alittle moisturized, but not enough that I wouldn't use a moisturizer afterwards.
Sometimes it just feels like I haven't cleaned my skin well enough. To tell you the truth, if I didn't do the makeup test to see that it was able to wash that off, I would'be been skeptical on whether or not it was actually washing anything off my face. That's how "gentle" this cleanser is.
I wouldn't use this as a stand alone cleanser, I guess you could use it as a 2nd cleanser, as part of your double cleansing step (if you double cleanse), but I fee like even as a 2nd cleanser it wouldn't be anything amazing.
I do NOT like that there is such a high alcohol content in the cleanser, in general, I'm not a big fan of alcohol in my cleansers.
Good news is, it didn't break my out when I used this cleanser and it didn't cause any kind of skin irritation for me either, so it's definitely good for sensitive skin people. But I didn't notice any skin brightening effects.
Honestly, I don't really know why this cleanser is so popular, there isn't really anything special about it. Maybe it's just due to really good advertising from Sokoglam.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐
This is not a cleanser that I would buy again, no repurchase.
The idea and concept of this cleanser was great, gentle, low pH, non-bubbling, good for gentle skin, and brightening, but I feel like it really fell through with what it said it would do.
As an oily skin person, I wouldn't recommend this cleanser to other oily skin people, however, I've read many reviews where other oily skin people have liked it, so it could just be a personal preference. However, anyone with sensitive skin and dry skin would probably like this cleanser at lot. It definitely does NOT strip your skin of it's natural oils.
