Review: Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Mask

Hi Everyone!

It's been awhile since I've done a face mask review, so I decided to do one over the Sand & Sky Australian Pink Clay Mask. This mask has been really popular recently, I constantly see advertisements on Facebook and Instagram.
I bought this mask on a whim on Amazon, it had been on sale during a Lightning Deal for like $30-something when the usual price is $54, so it was a total steal.

***Cruelty-free and Animal-testing free***

Size: 2 oz. or 60 mL

Accessory: Brush
The brush is given to be more hygienic, so instead of using your fingers to grab the mask out of the tub, you can use the brush to cover your face instead.

Color: Light Pink, dries White

Fragrance: There is a light smell to this mask, but it's kind of hard for me to describe. When I smell it, it kind of reminds me of a acidic-y citrus-y kind of smell... I know that doesn't make sense, but just know that there is a light scent. However, it goes away really quickly as the mask is drying on your face.

Texture: Smooth and Creamy

Sensation: When applying this mask, there is a tingling sensation as the mask is drying. This is due to the active ingredients in the mask and tingling is good! It means that the ingredients are working to tackle the impurities in your skin.

Free from: Sulfates, Parabens, Synthetic fragrance, Synthetic colours, TEA, DEA, Glycols, Silicones, PEGs, Ethoxylate, and Formaldehyde.

The mask is a light pink color, creamy in texture.

How To Use:
Cleanse your face before applying the mask with your brush applicator. Leave it for about 10 minutes until fully dry. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a fresh towel.

How I Use It:
I always like to use face mask right after I have finish showering at night, it's perfect because I have just finished cleaning my whole and face.
When I'm lazy, I just use my finger to grab the mask from the jar and apply it all over my face. I don't do an especially thick layer, I just cover my face with the minimum needed, this way I can conserve more of the mask for future uses.
Once I've applied it to my face, I let it dry until ALL of the mask has become WHITE on my face.
I rinse the mask off with warm water, dry my face, and I continue on with my nightly skincare routine.
---I only use this mask about once a week because on other days I either use different masks or I give my skin a "cooling off" period where I don't use a mask that night.---

Here is how I look BEFORE applying the mask

I have just applied the mask on, it is still pink. As the ask dries, it becomes white.

In these close-up pictures of my nose, you can see some "holes" around my nose area, these are areas that are being detoxified and tightened by the mask. Basically, cleaning out my pores.

As the mask dries, it becomes really REALLY crack-y. It's hard to smile or make facial expressions without cracking the mask and creating some mask dust.

Now, I have BEFORE and AFTER close-up pictures, we can compare to see if there is any difference

Picture 1: It's kind of hard to see if you can zoom in, but the pores on the top of my nose have decreased in size, AKA they became tightened.

Picture 2: I honestly don't see much of a difference from the side of my nose, you can see there is still some redness at the side of my left nostril, I had a deep under-the-skin pimple that that hurt like no other. HOWEVER, if you look to the side, at my cheek area or kind of like the nose-cheek sinus area, you can clearly see that my pores have tightened up! You almost can't see my pores in that area anymore.
Picture 3: Again, I don't really see a change in my pore size for the side of my nose, however, even though the pores are not tightened, I do feel like the pores look cleaned out. If you can zoom in really closely, I feel like my pores look cleaner/clearer in the AFTER than the BEFORE. For the cheek-nose area, I don't really see a change in pore size, but then again, I feel like there was really any pore size issue to begin with here. I have some bumps on this side of my cheek-nose sinus area, but there wasn't any change in their appearance from the mask.

Picture 4: These are close-up of my forehead. I had a big deep pimple on my forehead at the time and wanted to see if this mask could do anything for it. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like the mask helped "bring out" the pimple more, so that it became a little more like a white-headed pimple instead of those painful deep-seated pimples. The redness is still there. The area, or the pores around the area, look more cleaned-out, more cleared.

Picture 5: This is a close-up of my right cheek. I had a pimple there that I had already popped, but it was still festering. The mask helped clean out the pores around the pimple, maybe even cleaned out the pimple a little? Maybe??? The redness is still there.

Final: The BEFORE and AFTER pictures of my whole face from using the mask.

Overall, this is great mask! I understand why so many people really like it. I really does help detoxify and tighten pores. I feel like it even helped bring out the pimple I had on my forehead so that I could pop it sooner.
This mask is NOT drying at all on the skin. After washing the mask off, my skin did NOT feel tight or dried out. If you look at the BEFORE and AFTER pictures, you can clearly see that my skin look stretched out and dry in the BEFORE. While in the AFTER, my skin looked moisturized (to an extent) and a little more plump.
In the final picture, I do feel like my skin looks brighter, maybe even a little bit of a glow to it after using this mask. Maybe some of the redness around my cheeks has gone down a little, but I would not say that this mask can help get rid of the redness from pimples. However, I feel like my skin doesn't have as much of a dull-tone to it than it used to.
I think the only bad thing I would say about this mask is it's price point. It's really quite expensive ($54) for the amount that they give. The jar itself isn't even that big, not even 100 mL of product, so it's kind of expensive in my opinion for a mask. Again, the only reason I had bought it was because it was on sale on Amazon, AND I was able to do this thing through Sand & Sky, where I wrote an honest review on Amazon on why I liked the mask and they mailed me a 2nd mask for FREE. That then made the price of this mask seem better because it was like "buy 1 on sale and get 1 free".

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I highly recommend people trying this mask out! It works really well and you can actually see results instantaneously. Really worth it, even if the price is a little high. However Sand & Sky does have some coupon deals on their website, and if you wait it out, sometimes on Amazon it does go back on sale. I think about 2 weeks ago it was back to that $30-something price that I paid for on Amazon.

*** I'm not 100% sure of Sand & Sky is still doing this promotion but...
