Review: The Face Shop Herb Day Cleaning Foam, Aloe

Hi Everyone!

Today, I will be reviewing a cleansing foam that I bought from iHerb.com (it is not discontinued, I will provided links below on where you can get it).
At the time, when I bought this product, I was in need of a new cleansing foam cause I had no spare face wash in stock. I was looking online and saw this cleansing foam from The Face Shop that contains Aloe.
I'm a HUGE fan of aloe! I love using Aloe Soothing Gels ALL THE TIME. Basically any skincare with aloe in it is almost always a big winner for me to buy.
I actually bought this aloe cleansing foam along with another one from Nature Republic. Both were highly well reviewed, so I thought, "Why not?!"

I took this cleansing foam with me to Taiwan from April to May, using it as my daily cleanser the whole time I was there. I typically used it only in the morning, but sometimes I would use it at night as well.

Aloe is a major star ingredient in skincare. Not only does it feel good on the skin, it is nutrient-packed and can help your skin in the long term.

Aloe is:
  • Rich in Vitamins
  • Ideal for sunburned or irritated skin
  • Good for DIY skincare
  • Effective for healing
From The Face Shop:
This cleanser is part of their Herb Day 365 cleansing skincare line. This range is the basic cleansing line with "Herb Clean Complex" (9 kinds of herbs) that provides mild but powerful cleansing care.

There are 5 'flavors': Peach, Acerola, Lemon, Aloe, and Mung Beans.

This is a cleansing foam with aloe extract formulated to remove the heaviest of makeup effectively. It's a mild botanical foam cleanser that leaves skin moisturized even after cleansing. It's best suited for people with dry skin who look for a mild cleanser that doesn't leave the skin feeling tight.

Star Ingredient: ALOE VERA
Aloe Vera reduces the healing time of burns by around 9 days compared to conventional medication. Aloe moisturizes the skin without giving it a greasy feel, so it's perfect for anyone with an oily skin complexion.

Here's a close-up of the cleanser. It sort of has a metallic look to it. It's like shiny... It was a pale pastel light green color. It had a thick, creamy texture.

How To Use:
Massage over wet face and rinse off with lukewarm water.

How I Use It:
I mainly used this cleanser as my morning face cleanser. I would wet my face, then take about a nickel coin sized amount and dot my face with the cleanser. Gently massaging the cleanser all over until it creates a nice dense foam. Once I feel that I am cleansed enough, I rinse off with warm water.

Below are pictures of me testing out how well this cleanser washed my face in the morning after having skincare sitting on my face overnight.
BEFORE
You can see my face is oily and my pores are clogged.

DURING
The cleanser creates a nice dense foam.

AFTER
My skin and face looks clean. My pores are no longer clogged. My skin is NOT tight or dry feelings, it actually feel moisturized.

Overall, this was an okay cleanser. It wasn't life changing and it got the job done. There are definitely other cleanser out there that I love more than this one, but this cleanser was still good and didn't cause my skin to break out.

As I stated previously, I'm a huge fan of aloe. So this cleanser already having aloe is a major point for me. I like that this cleanser is really gentle and cleaned my skin well while also not causing me to break out or feel really tight-skinned. I hated that stretched out feeling you get sometimes from a cleanser that is stripping your skin of everything it has.

I wouldn't say this cleanser really helped any of my acne in it's healing process, but again, it didn't make anything worse, which is much more important to me.

The price is great, it's inexpensive and I also like that there are many other 'flavors' to choose from, none of which I have tried, but I might in the future.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a good cleanser, it's just not life changing or anything majorly to rave about. I would recommend it for anyone, it's great for ALL skin types, especially if you have DRY SKIN. It's not horrible, gets the job done, and doesn't cause any breakouts.
