Review: Abib Mild Acidic pH Sheet Mask Honey Fit

Hi Everyone!

Hopefully everyone is doing well in this new normal.

Today, I will be reviewing a new brand that I've never used before. I was recently contacted by Skin Library, and they asked whether or not I'd be willing to review some products and give my honest opinion. They sent me 6 sheet masks and this Honey Fit sheet mask from Abib's Mild Acidic pH sheet mask line. If you're interested, can you see the other Sheet Masks Skin Library has on their website! For more products from Abib, go to this link: https://skinlibrary.co.uk/collections/abib

The mask comes in a clear plastic package, fulled with serum with a pH value nearly close to your skin's to not cause any irritation. The high-enriched serum is from a bottle of ampoule that contains 1,000-ppm of honey, propolis and Royal Jelly.
The mild acidic pH of the serum helps to strengthen immunity of skin and adjust the pH balance in order to maintain healthy skin. Also, contains abundant minerals and vitamins to nourish your skin.

Special ALBAM (Albumin + Bamboo) sheet made of bamboo fabric and albumin (egg white). Once applied to skin, the sheet starts to tighten and improve the elasticity of your skin while helping the skin absorb the effective ingredients from the serum.

Features:
🌼Instant and intensive nourishing effect
🌼To improve skin elasticity and serum absorption, sheet starts to tighten once applied

You can see the material of the sheet mask is fabric-y. It's thin and transparent, so you can see through the sheet. It had a slight yellow tinge, probably due to the honey in the serum.
You can see how thin the sheet mask is.

Size: Contained 30 mL of serum within pack

Color: Slightly yellow tinged sheet mask, liquid serum is clear.

Fragrance: Has a strong honey smell. I really enjoyed the smell, but some people might not like it.

Texture: The mask had a thin fabric feel, not too thick or thin. The mask feels really soft.

Fit: The fit of the mask wasn't too bad, it seemed to line up with my eyes and mouth pretty well.

Packaging: Comes in a clear plastic package that's filled with 30 mL of serum.

  3. Leave the sheet mask on for 10 to 20 minutes, and remove soon after.
  4. Massage and pat in remaining serum into the skin until fully absorbed.
How I Use It:
I use this sheet mask at the end of my skincare routine at night. Once I have applied my last skin care step, which is my face cream, I open the pouch for this mask and apply it on. Once applied, I leave the sheet mask on for about 20 minutes, then I remove the sheet mask.

Below are shocking pictures of the result from using this sheet mask
I had the sheet mask on for 25 minutes and honestly I was really shocked after removing the mask. When I had the mask on, I felt a sort of tingling/tightening feel, which I attributed to the "tightening" feature of this mask. When  I took the mask off, I took a picture of my face without realizing how my skin actually looked. When I look at the picture on my phone, I realize there was a problem. I looked more closely into the mirror and noticed my whole face was red. It was covered in rashes all over the place!
Left to Right: This is how the sheet mask looked when I first applied it and then 25 minutes later. You can see the mask looks drier because my skin has absorbed most of the serum.
You can see from the left to right, before and after photos, that there is a major change in how my skin looks. I seem to have had an allergic reaction to the serum or maybe even the material of the sheet mask, causing my whole face to develop in rashes. I immediately washed my face and you could see the rashes still apparent after cleansing my skin.
again, looking from the before and after images, you can see how much my skin has changed. In the before, my skin looks completely normal. However, in the after, you can see that my skin is all red and blotchy.
Even in the pictures of my forehead, comparing the before and after images, you can see that there is a redness to my forehead and there is a blotchiness to my skin.

Overall, I hated this mask. I had an allergic reaction to something, whether that be the mask itself or the serum. I have no idea what caused my allergic reaction, but it did something to my skin that has never happened to me before in my life. Although I suffer from certain allergies (usually just pollen), I've never had an allergic reaction that caused my whole face to develop rashes all over the place.

It's so weird, when I had the sheet mask on my face, it felt like there was a tingling / tightening sensation. I attributed this sensation to the tightening feature that is suppose to happen from the masks. However, I've come to realize it was my skin having an allergic reaction to something from the sheet mask.

I really wanted to like this sheet mask when I received it from the Skin Library, however after seeing what happened to my skin, I absolutely cannot recommend this for anyone since I don't know what could have potentially cause the reaction to my skin.

I can only make a few general comments about the sheet mask. I like the soft material of the sheet mask, it felt really nice when I was touching it with my fingers and when it was initially on my face. I also really enjoyed the smell of the serum that they use to soak the sheet mask. I really liked the honey smell and I didn't find it to be too overwhelming or causing me to have any kind of headaches from the strong fragrance.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐
I did NOT enjoy this experience from this sheet mask and I don't ever plan to use this particular one again.
Even though it didn't work for me, it might work for someone else. If you don't think, or you know, that you're not allergic to anything from this mask, I would still give it a try just to see how it might work for you. Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you.
