Natalie Styx 7 in 1 Curling Wand Set

Want curly hair? Look no further than this 7-in-1 curling wand set!
I've been wanting a new curling wand for a really long time now and I finally got one from Natalie Styx that I bought from Amazon. My old curling iron had been working fine, however, I was sharing it with my sister, so we were always trading off the iron and waiting for the other to finish using it. I finally decided it was time to buy a new one, so I started searching around and found this one.

This set has a total of 7 detachable wand barrels, 2 hair clips, 1 glove with a sleeve that goes all the way to the elbow, 1 wand base, and 1 carrying bag. Of the 7 wands, 4 are clip-less, 2 have clips, and 1 is bubble.

The wand barrels are made from ceramic tourmaline. Ceramic plates are always preferred when it comes to a flat/curling iron. The ceramic glides through the hair without pulling and tugging at it, reducing breakage and damage to the hair. Also, ceramic is able to heat up quickly and evenly, therefore, reducing the number of times you would have to run the iron through your hair. Tourmaline is a crystal boron silicate mineral that helps smooth the hair. Tourmaline emits negative ions that will counteract the positive ions seen in dry/damaged hair. By having tourmaline in your flat/curling iron, your hair would have a smooth and shiny finish. It is said that tourmaline can also help seal the moisture into your hair and counteracts frizz.

This curling wand can be used for all hair types due to the temperature range. The heat range is from 140 degrees Fahrenheit to 430 degrees Fahrenheit. There is an LCD screen to display what your temperature setting is at.

Over the course of a week, my sister and I decided to try out each curling wand size to see how each one looks and determine whether this curling wand set was worth it.
NOTE: Both my sister and I used the curling wands. We each used a different size because it would've taken too many days if I tried each one on myself each day. This way I am able to show you how some of the curling wand sizes look on long hair and shoulder-length hair.

Before we started curling our hairs, first, we prepped our hair with a heat protectant. The one we used was Suave Honey Infusion 10-in-1 Leave-in Conditioner. While this is a leave-in conditioner, one of its' functions is to help protect your hair from heat.

This leave-in conditioner is good. It does what it says it will do. I will do a review over this product in the future after I have used it more.

In the pictures above, this is how our hair looked before we started to curl it, heat protectant already in placed.

Wand Size: 9 - 19 mm OR 0.35 - 0.75 inch
Note: Tapered wand
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: I did NOT like this wand. Due to the small size, I had to hold the wand at a specific angle to get the curls to look remotely nice. Have the thicker end of the wand upwards and the thinner end pointed downwards. The size of the curls were too small for my liking. Literally half-ed the length of my hair once I was done curling it. It felt like the length of this wand wasn't long enough for my hair, causing me to have to curl half my hair from the top section first, then taking that same section again to curl the bottom half of it. As a result, the curls didn't look good. This size curling wand would probably be better for someone with short hair instead of long hair.

Wand Size: 13 - 25 mm OR 0.5 - 0.75 inch
Note: Tapered wand
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: Due to the tapered size, you need to be careful on the angle of how you hold the curling wand. Have the thicker end of the wand upwards and the thinner end pointed downwards. Since my sister has about shoulder length hair, this sized curling wand makes nice curls for her. She liked the curls and would recommend it for people with short to middle length hair.

Wand Size: 19 - 25 mm OR 0.75 - 1.0 inch
Note: Tapered wand
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: I liked this tapered wand. The curls had a nice gradual, tapered look. You can barely notice a difference in the size of the curls from top to bottom. Hold the curling wand in the correct direction, have the thicker end of the wand upwards and the thinner end pointed downwards. I think this curling wand size would be best for middle to long length hair.

Wand Size: 19 mm OR 0.75 inch
Note: Straight wand & Clip-less
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: This curling wand made curls that were nice for my sister. She liked the size of her curls and would recommend it for people with any length of hair, although it might look a bit tight-curled for people with long hair. Be warned, since the barrel is smaller, it creates tighter curls, so your hair will reduce in length when you use this wand size. Since this is a clip-less, straight wand, she just wrapped her hair around the wand, doesn't matter how you angle the wand.

Wand Size: 25 mm OR 1.0 inch
Note: Bubble wand
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: This curling wand was weird/difficult to use. It was hard to wrap the hair around the sections between each bubble and the first bubble from the base of the base always created a weird kink in the hair, seen at the top of the the hair for each curled section. As you can see of the back look of  her hair, there are some sections of curls that look weird. Sometimes when you wrap your hair around the wand, it wouldn't go into the sections between the bubbles, instead it would wrap around a bubble, causing the curl to look even more distorted. However, this can be used for people of any length of hair. I would note that if you do have long hair, you might have to first curl the top half of your hair section, then go back and curl the bottom half of the hair section. Due to there being specific spacings for where your hair is supposed to be wrapped around, you might not be able to wrap your full length hair section all in one go.

                       WRAPPED AROUND                                                   CLIP USED

Wand Size: 25 mm or 1.0 inch
Note: Straight wand & Clip
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: We both really like this curling wand. I have showed two different curling styles that can be accomplished from this straight, clip wand. On the left, I wrapped my hair around the curling wand, NOT using the clip that was part of the wand. Essentially, I was using the wand as if there was no clip present. On the right, my sister DID use the clip from the wand. You can either clip your hair in from the bottom end of your hair section and then roll upwards to the top of your head to create one type of curl. OR. You can start off by opening the clip of the wand to a section of hair from the top and start turning the wand so that it is curling in more of your hair from the bottom. This size wand is really standard/common, you can find it all the time in many different brands. We would recommend it for people of all hair lengths.

Wand Size: 32 mm OR 1.25 inch
Note: Straight wand & Clip
Direction of Curls: Away from face
Opinion: I really like this curling wand. This is actually the same sized wand as my old curling iron that I was using. I would prefer this sized curling wand to the 25mm/1.0inch wand. It created nice wavy and bouncy curls. Again, since this is a straight, clip wand, you can either wrap your hair around the barrel as if there was no clip OR you can open the clip to use and curl your hair. I find that if you wrap your hair around the barrel, you will get a more wavy type curl. However, if you open and use the clip, you will get a more tight-ringlet type curl. I personally prefer to wrap my hair around the barrel, I think the curls look nicer and don't have that doll-like ringlet look. I would recommend this wand size for people of all hair length, however, I have read and seen that many hair professionals prefer people with long hair to use the 32mm/1.25inch size wand while people with short to middle length hair to use 25mm/1.0inch size wand. This doesn't mean people with short or middle length hair can't use the 32mm/1.25inch size wand or visa versa! It just means that your hair would look more wavy rather than curly. It really all depends on what type of curl you want and what you yourself like.

SIDE NOTE: We put the curling iron's temperature to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. Please be careful on how high you have the temperature, since this wand base can go all the way up to 430 degrees Fahrenheit, you need to be conscious on the temperature or else you could burn your hair.

OVERALL: I would recommend this curling wand set for anyone who wants to have different sized curling wands to create different curls and looks. It is a great deal for the price of $59.99 (if you use the extra $10 off coupon, otherwise it is $69.99). Essentially each curling wand is about $8.57 and you get 2 hair clips, 1 heat protectant glove, and a carrying bag! This is way cheaper than buying multiple curling wand of different sizes which usually range from $20 - $100 for one curling wand.
Both of our favorite wand size was the 32 mm (1.25 inch). It created nice medium/large wavy curls that were to our liking

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I only gave it 4 stars because I really didn't like the 9 - 19 mm (0.35 - 0.75 inch) tapered curling wand and the 25 mm (1.0 inch) Bubble curling wand. Other than those 2 curling wands, everything else was great.

I highly recommend this 7-in-1 curling wand set from Natalie Styx.
