Review: Bonvivant Botanical Mellow Clay Mask - Hawaiian Pink Calamine

Hi Everyone!!!
We are finally finishing this Bonvivant Clay Mask set!
Today, this is PART 3 of the mask set, consisting of the Hawaiian Pink Calamine mask.
This Pink Calamine mask calms and relieves red, dry, and flaky skin. The ingredient that stands out is the Calamine which is great to treat sunburns and rashes. This calming mask also hydrates while detoxing skin, leaving your skin clean, moisturized, and supple.
This jelly-like mask can remove excess sebum and clarifies pores of dirt and oils.
Very similar in the the previous 2 mask, which also remove excess sebum!!!

Fragrance: There wasn't much of a smell in my opinion.

Texture: JELLY-like. Completely different feeling from the previous 2 masks. While the Mint Tea Tree mask was more water and the Jeju Volcanic mask was on the thicker texture (like a typical mask basically), this mask feels THICK. Thicker than a pudding texture, kind of jiggly like jell-o.

Great for: calming troubled skin, cleanses pores, hydrates skin, and brightens the complexion.

Size: 70g

Full Ingredients: Water, Kaolin, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/6 Copolymer, Calamine, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Juice, Papain, Maltodextrin, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Extract, Castanea Crenata (Chestnut) Shell Extract, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Volcanic Ash, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Cellulose Gum, Hydroxyacetophenone, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Betaine, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Chlorphenesin, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol

This mask is great for ALL skin types, however, I think people with DRY skin will find this mask even MORE beneficial than people with oily skin.

Here are some swatches of what the mask looks like. Unfortunately, my mask as alittle dried out due to long use, so not only was my mask alittle dry but it was also alittle stiff. An easy fix for this would be to wet the mask alittle in your hands before applying it onto your face. It's a really jelly-like texture, so when you are grabbing it out of the tub, it almost like you are just taking a piece of jell-o out instead. As you can see, it is also really thick in texture, looks almost like a really REALLY thick paste after you've kind of played around with it and tried to work it into your skin.

Here is how my skin looked BEFORE putting the mask on.
How to Use:
This mask is great because you can customize the areas that you want to apply the mask to or you can apply it all over your face.
Apply an even layer of the mask all over cleansed face or at areas of concern. Let the mask sit for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water in circular motions. Mask can be used morning or night.

How I Use: I only use this mask at NIGHT after I have finished taking a shower. I TRY to apply an even layer onto my skin, but as you can see, it's a really thick consistency, so it's kind of hard to apply onto the skin. The mask just keeps like rolling around on my skin, so it takes some work to get it applied on. I let the mask dry for about 5-10 minutes. Wash off the mask with lukewarm to hot water while massaging it off in circular motions.

Here is how I looked after just applying the mask. As you can see, it is NOT an even layer. It is pretty hard to apply onto the skin, not gonna lie. You can even see some chunky areas where I wasn't able to spread the mask out. The mask is still "wet".

Here is how I looked after the mask had dried for about 5-10 minutes. It's kind of hard to smile after a mask has dried on your skin... I look horrible... I can admit it.
It actually didn't even really feel dried on my skin. It had a really smooth texture to it. It just felt like i had a thick layer of some sort of gel/pudding like thing on my face that I was trying to dry on.
Again, the uneven layering of the mask is REALLY apparent. The mask is now "dry".

This mask is able to more EXCESS SEBUM!!! Just like the previous 2 masks. I LOVE a mask that can remove the excess sebum from my pores, sometimes you just need alittle extra help in the skin department.

Here is how my face looked after I washed off the mask.

Overall, this is a nice mask. From the before and after pictures, I definitely feel like my skin is brighter and more clear looking. The redness on my cheeks and the top of my nose has gone down, so you know that Calamine is working! My skin does feel moisturized, it doesn't have that dry, skin-pulling feel after washing the mask off. It's almost like I had on a thin layer of lotion or a soothing gel on because my skin didn't feel dry at all.
I love that this mask also removes the excess sebum from your pores. Especially since I have oily skin, having a mask that can remove the excess sebum for me is great!
However...
I do NOT like how it was so hard to work this mask onto my skin. It took quite awhile for me to even get a layer on my skin and it wasn't a pretty layer either.
Don't even get me started on WASHING this mask OFF! It was super hard to wash off! I would have an easier time PULLING pieces of this mask off than to wash it off. It literally took me about 5 minutes to wash this mask off! I was massaging my face in circular motion for such a long time that at one point I just started to pull pieces of the mask off from my forehead and cheeks. I'm NOT joking... this mask is HARD to wash off. It took so much work to rub on and off that it's a really big turn off on wanting to use this mask again because it would most likely cause wrinkles and fine lines.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐
I wouldn't necessarily recommend this mask to anyone. While the results were great, it just takes way too much work to put on and wash off. I don't like having to rub my face so much due to the fear of creating wrinkles. However, it is a great mask for all skin types and I think people with DRY skin would love this mask since it is really moisturizing. For people with oily skin, like me, I would mainly only use this in the winter time or if you customize it and have an area of dry skin, then it would be great to apply it there.

GOOD NEWS!!!
There are many other mask out there that are also really similar! Especially since this mask is currently unavailable, I have found some dupes for this mask that would be great to try too!
