Review: SKIN79 Green Tea Purifying Clay Mask

Hi Everyone!

Today, I will be reviewing a clay mask that I found on Yesstyle.com
I've had this mask for a while now and actually didn't start using it until I already had it in storage for about a year. (So if you try to buy it, you'll notice the packaging is different now than the one I have.)
I was running out of face masks, and I always use a face mask every night, so I thought I'd give this one a try since it had great reviews on Yesstyle (they don't sell it anymore from the time I'm writing this review) and Google.

What really drew me to this mask was that it's a "Pore & Deep Cleansing" clay mask. I love using clay masks at least twice a week, it really sucks out all the impurities from your skin when you leave it on.

French clay and natural Adzuki powder care the pores and exfoliate dead skin cells smoothly. The base of this Green Tea Clay Mask is kaolin, which gently cleanses and nourishes the skin. It eliminates dead skin cells and stimulates tissue regeneration. It also contains bentonite which is a cay that has strong detoxifying and anti-inflammatory effects. The clay absorbs the dead skin cells, sebum, and skin wastes, tending the skin smoothly and clearly.
Boseong Green tea is used for its regenerating, toning effect, inhibits the development of inflammation. The green tea also helps to moisturize and soothe the stimulated skin with flavonoid and tannin. Red bean powder is a natural peeling that helps remove dead skin cells.
After using this clay mask, your skin is suppose to become moisturized, bright, fresh and radiant.
It's great for all skin types.

Main Points:
💥Clean pore care: French clay rich in minerals care the pores and sebum.
💥Smooth exfoliation: Natural adzuki bean powder exfoliates dead skin cells smoothly.
💥Moist skin soothing: Boseong green tea moisturizes and soothes the stimulated skin.

Main Ingredients:
🍀Green Tea Water - Flavonoid and Tannin in green tea tend the skin healthily.
🍀French Clay (Kaolin-Bentonite) - French clay absorbs sebum and smooths the skin.
🍀Adzuki Bean Powder - The natural scrub cares the skin texture smoothly.

Recommended for skin:
💗If you need pore, dead skin cells, and sebum care.
💗If you want to soothe and smooth the rough and stimulated skin.
💗If you want to eliminate sebum and exfoliate dead skin cells simultaneously.

Here's how the mask looked when I opened the jar. Like I mentioned in the beginning, I did wait over a year before I actually used the mask, so I think it dried a little, but I was still able to spread it all over my face.
Here's a close-up of the clay mask. It's a thick, chunky texture. It's mint green in color and contains their flecks of Adzuki bean powder.

Size: 100 mL

Color: Mint green color with flecks of dark green Adzuki bean mixed scrub

Fragrance: Has a light Green Tea smell. NOTE: When the mask is drying, it has a HORRIBLE smell. I have no idea what this smell is, but it does NOT smell like Green Tea when it's drying on my face.

Texture: Thick and chunky riddled with flecks of Adzuki bean powder

Packaging: Comes in a plastic green tub.

Star Ingredients: Green Tea Water, French Clay, and Adzuki Bean Powder

Full Ingredients ListWater, Dipropylene glycol, Kaolin, Bentonite, Betaine, Phaseolus angularis Seed Powder, Alcohol, Titanium Dioxide, Squalane, Polyglyceryl-10 stearate, Acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylate crosspolymer, 1,2-Hexanediol, Montmorillonite, Maltodextrin, Glycerin, Chromium Oxide Greens, Phenoxyethanol, Algae Extract, Eclipta Prostrata Leaf Extract, Xanthan Gum, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Fragrance, Centella Asiatica Extract, Ficus Carica Fruit Extract, Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Echinacea Purpurea Extract, Swertia Chirata Extract, Hydrogenated polyisobutene, Onsen-Sui, Illite, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Argania spinosa Kernel Oil, Isononyl Isononanoate, Iron Oxides, Beta-Glucan, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-2 Dipolyhydroxystearate, Stearic Acid, Calcite, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Palmitoyl Proline, Inulin, Alpha-glucan oligosaccharide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Hydroxyacetophenone, Tamarindus Indica Seed Polysaccharide, Ceramide NP, Calendula Officinalis Flower Oil, Crithmum Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate, Glycolipids, Pistacia Lentiscus Gum, Potassium Hydroxide, Moringa oleifera, Phospholipids, Phytosphingosine.

How To Use:
  1. Facial cleansing and toning.
  2. Apply the mask evenly on your face.
  3. After 10 minutes, do a T-zone massage, then rinse with lukewarm water.

How I Use It:
I used this mask about 2-3 times a week at night after I finished taking a shower. I would apply it all over my face and leave it on for about 10 minutes (I never wait until the mask is 100% dry because this would be too drying on my skin since the clay would take out more than I want from within my skin). Once the time has passed, I rinsed the mask off with warm water, then I continued with my skincare routine.

Below are pictures of me using this clay mask
Top to Bottom: From Before to During to After me using this clay mask. The mask has a thick consistency that takes some work to spread all over the skin. It had a BAD smell when it's drying. As it's drying, I feel a slight tightening feel of the mask. When I wash the mask off, it takes some work to fully wash it off because of the Adzuki Bean Powder, which gets stuck to my skin. Once fully washed off, my skin looks brighter, feels and looks cleaner, and pores seem to be tighter. My skin doesn't feel tight or dry.
Before and After shots of my Left cheek. You can see that the pores on my cheek are small, almost all gone! Skin looks brighter and feels cleaner.
Top to Bottom: From Before to During to After, you can see the transformation my skin went through using this mask. Again, my pores are cleaner and smaller. My skin looks brighter and doesn't feel tight. The pimple I had at the outside of my nose looks smaller and less inflamed.
Before and After of my forehead. You can see my skin looks brighter and has a luster look to it.

Overall, I liked the results from this clay mask! I think I might've liked it even more if  I didn't wait so long to use it (again, I waited a year before I opened it).

My skin really does look better after using this mask. It has a brighten look, less dullness, and it definitely helped calm down my acne and reduce redness. The mask did an amazing job of cleaning out my pores and tighten them up! My pores were transformed and you could barely see them after washing off the mask.

The mask does have a thick, chunky texture. It's riddled with Adzuki Bean Powder, but really I don't feel like the powder did much exfoliation. It's really light that it doesn't really do much of a scrub's job. Also, the Adzuki Bean was hard to wash off. It's gets suck to my skin and i have to work a little harder to fully wash it off.

Additionally, it may not be a big deal to people and it's honestly not too big of a deal for me either, but the after smell of this mask is gross. Initially, when the mask was still in the tub, it had the nice light green tea smell. However, like I mentioned previously, as the mask is drying, all of a sudden, this HORRIBLE smell starts coming on. I have no idea what in the mask is causing the smell, but it's disgusting.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I do like this mask and I would recommend everyone give it a try. I love the results! The only reason I took a star away is because of the smell and because of how hard it was to wash off the Adzuki Bean Powder.
