Review: Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream

Hi Everyone! This cream is very reminiscent of ancient traditional Korean skincare. Infused with incredible ingredients such as Korean Ginseng and Orchid Extract, this cream brightens the complexion, firms skin, and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

This cream is inspired by the allure of Joseon royalty and carefully crafted with ancient ingredients such as Orchid, Honey, Ginseng, Pure Water, dried Radish Greens, and Flaxseed Oil. This cream can fight wrinkles, brighten skin tone and firms to deliver a natural younger looking skin. The natural herbal and plant extracts help strengthen the skin's barrier to result in overall healthier skin.

Whenever I use this cream at night, I notice a big difference the next morning on my skin. Especially on nights where I put a thicker layer of this cream on, kind of like a sleeping mask/pack, my skin is plump and luminescent the next day!

     

Can I just say that I absolutely LOVE this packaging?! It's SO CUTE!!! The jar is made of glass, not plastic, which is a major plus in my opinion. I don't like the spatula, so in the end I didn't use the spatula that was provided. Instead, I just took a spatula from a previous cream to use instead.

Fragrance: there is a minor perfume-y smell to this cream, it's really light and almost not noticeable. If you are sensitive to fragrances in your skincare products, this cream should be fine for you because the smell is almost unnoticeable.

Great for ALL skin types! It is recommended that if you have oily skin, start off with only applying a thinner layer of cream and slowly increase the amount as time goes on.

This cream has a STICKY yet creamy texture that absorbs deep into the skin for use day and night. Its has fresh scent along with the texture makes it perfect to use as an overnight/sleeping mask on days when you skin needs a bit of extra pampering.

Due to it's sticky texture, once you've applied the cream onto your skin, it has a slightly tacky feel. Good news! It absorbs into your skin relatively fast, I would say about 5-10 minutes after application.

   

Once you've applied it onto your skin, there is no over-cast coloring on your skin. It just absorbs clear. Once fully absorbed, my skin feels moisturized. This cream would be great for all seasons, however, I think the sticky-tacky feel might be a little annoying during the hot summer day and nights.

How to Use:
This is a do-it-all cream that can be used as a massage cream, sleeping pack, or makeup base.

To use as a massage cream: cleanse and tone your face first, then use the spatula provided, scoop out desired amount of cream and gently massage all over your face AND neck for 2-3 minutes. Pat and gently press the cream with your hands onto your face and neck to ensure maximum absorption.

To use as a sleeping pack/mask: after your usual nighttime routine, massage the cream all over your face and neck, use a THICK layer. Leave on OVERNIGHT and wash off in the morning. See a difference the next day!

To use as a makeup base: before applying foundation, massage an even layer of the cream all over your face. Pat and gently press the cream with your hands onto your face for maximum absorption. Let the cream set/sink into your skin for a few minutes, then apply the rest of your makeup. By using this Dynasty Cream as a makeup base, your makeup should apply on very smoothly and your skin will appear glow-y due to the great ingredients in this cream!

How I Use It: I used this cream BOTH day and night, only as a moisturizer or night cream. In the morning, I put this cream on as my 2nd to last step, right before I end with sunscreen. In the night time, I put this cream on as my LAST step, right after I showered and before I go to bed.

 

Here's how my skin looks after applying the cream. My skin looks brighter and it also feels really smooth after the cream has fully absorbed in.

Overall, I really liked the cream and would definitely repurchase it in the future! I really like the way it makes my skin feel and I do notice a difference in my skin after using this cream every night, especially on nights where I use it as a sleeping mask. My skin feels plumper. I'm not entirely sure how anti-wrinkle this cream was to tell you the truth, however, I do think my wrinkles did NOT get worse while using this cream, so perhaps there are anti-aging capabilities in this cream.

I think the only bad thing I can come up with for this cream is the texture of it. The sticky-tacky feel is not something I like usually and I fine that if I had been using this cream on a particular hot night, I just felt annoyed for the texture of the cream. However, this cream is great, even in the cold winter nights and days, didn't cause my to breakout or cause flaky skin.

Again, I LOVE THE PACKAGING!!!

Even though it does have that sticky-tacky texture, I wouldn't consider it a deal-breaker. I really love this cream and would recommend it to everyone to try! I love the ingredient list and so far I have not been disappointed from Beauty of Joseon's Dynasty Cream!
