Review: MEDI LAB Black Rose Blossom Deep Cleansing Oil

Hi Everyone!

Today, I will be reviewing the MEDI LAB Black Rose Blossom Deep Cleansing Oil. I bought this  from Yesstyle.com last year when I was running out of my previous cleansing oil and thought it look really interesting.

At the time, there were ZERO reviews for this cleansing oil, so I was a little apprehensive about buying it. I usually try to buy products that have a few reviews so that I can get an idea of how well it works. However, at the time, this cleansing oil has NO reviews, but I decided to take the plunge and just buy it anyways because I REALLY LOVE the idea of the real rose petals at the bottom of the cleansing oil.
Now, if you go find this cleansing oil on Yesstyle, you will see they now have a few reviews for it.

When I was just starting my blog, I did a review of another cleansing oil at ALSO had rose petals at the bottom. It was called " RE:CIPE Rose Petal Cleansing Oil ". I linked my review of that cleansing oil to the name above. I liked that cleansing oil as well, so I thought this cleansing oil would be a good dupe/substitute for that one since you can't find the RE:CIPE Rose Petal Cleansing Oil anymore.

This MEDI LAB Black Rose Blossom Deep Cleansing Oil is a hypoallergenic cleansing oil that contains real rose ingredients and vegetable oil (instead of mineral oil!!!) to intensively remove impurities and makeup residues while taking care for a clearer and more radiant skin look.
It's meant to remove all traces of makeup while creating a skin barrier.

This is a cleansing oil that's formulated with a blend of plant-based oils to melt away impurities and unclog pores.

Side Note: I really appreciate that this cleansing oil comes with a lock/stopper to prevent any leaks or accidental pumping of the cleansing oil if you were to be traveling. It looks like a little clip-like thing.

Highlights about this cleansing oil:
⚡Hypoallergenic Cleansing Oil
⚡Fresh Type, Natural Vegetable Oil
⚡Gives Nourishment & Moisture to Skin
⚡Powerful Deep Cleansing
⚡Moist Feeling of Use Without Pull

Contains 3 Vegetable Oils:
Instead of being made with mineral oil, which many people find to be an irritant to their skin, this cleansing oil is made with vegetable oil.
🌰Macadamia Seed Oil - It's non-sticky with similar ingredient properties to the main ingredients of the skin surface lipids. It absorbs mostly to the skin and prevents the dryness of the skin and makes skin moist.
🌰Jojoba Seed Oil - Used as a moisturizing and softening agent. It gives shine to the skin to make the skin texture smooth and shiny.
🌰Olive Oil - Contains unsaturated fatty acids including vitamin E to help prevent moisture evaporating from the skin and supply nourishment to help make healthy skin.

🌹Rose Petals & Damask Rose Flower Oil are in this cleansing oil🌹
Damask Rose (Rosa Damascena) has a very delicate but distinctive smell as it's composed of more than 400 different aromatic substances, making it considered the Queen of the Roses.
It's extract is rich in flavonoids with antioxidant action, promotes tissue toning and slows the formation of wrinkles. Thanks to its moisturizing properties, it gives elasticity and tone to all skin types.
Here's a close-up of that rose petals at the bottom of the cleansing oil bottle. They don't specify that type of rose petals they are, just that it does contain rose petals. However, if you look at the ingredients it does list "Rose Centifola (Cabbage Rose) Flower." I'm assuming this is what type of rose petals there are in the bottle.

This cleansing oil will emulsify when it is combined with water! This allows for a more thorough deep cleansing, allowing the cleansing oil to go into your pores to remove oils and residue and then have water to enter the pores and push out the oils when rinsing off the cleansing oil.

Here are some highlights that the box of the cleansing oil was advertising. Sorry for the light glare!

Full Ingredients ListCetyl Ethylhexanoate, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Rosa Centifolia (Cabbage Rose) Flower, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Water, Alcohol, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Fragrance

How To Use:
Dispense cleansing oil into your palm. Gently massage to melt down eye and lip makeup and overall makeup. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

How I Use It:
I only use this cleansing oil at night when I'm in the shower. If I'm not wearing any makeup, then I only use 1 pump to cleanse my face and my neck. If I do have makeup on, then I use 1 pump for my face and neck (avoiding my eyes!) and then I use another pump (1 pump) and split it between both of my eyes. So in total I use 2 pumps when I do have makeup on.
I gently massage the cleansing oil all over, making sure my face isn't being touched by water. When I think I have cleansed as much as I could, I rinse my face and neck with lukewarm water.

If not everything comes off the first time (for the makeup), depending on how much is left over I might go back in with more cleansing oil. If there's only a little, like smudges of makeup left, then I just continue with my shower because later on I always use a cleansing foam or cleansing gel as a second step to cleanse my face. If there's still a lot of makeup that didn't get washed off during the first use of the cleansing oil, then I go back in and get more cleansing oil to try and remove more.

Below, I am testing out how well this cleansing oil is at removing makeup
1. Joah I'm So Fly Brush Liquid Eyeliner: https://bit.ly/2HbJWI6
2. Estee Lauder The Estee Edit The Edgiest Up & Out Double Mascara: https://amzn.to/2HAHL0Q

It's hard to tell due to the color of my skin, but this cleansing oil does have a light yellow color to it. You can see how runny and water-y this cleansing oil is. It easily runs down my hand and face.

BEFORE adding any water, this is purely cleansing oil only, removing the makeup. You can clearly still see the liquid eyeliner.

The cleansing oil has emulsified when combined with water. I forgot to take a picture of the emulsification on the hand with makeup, so I decided to show it on my other hand, but there's no makeup on this hand.

AFTER rinsing off the cleansing oil with lukewarm water. It removes makeup pretty well, but there was a slight leftover of the liquid eyeliner. I feel like this is due to the intensity and the heaviness of the liquid eyeliner streak that I had made on my hand. Usually, all my makeup removes completely.

Overall, this was a great cleansing oil. I love the rose smell from this cleansing. I am a huge fan of rose scented products and the idea that there are real rose petals inside this oil is so cool. My previous experience with rose petals in my cleansing oil was great, so this one just re-affirmed my great experience of having real petals in my cleansing oils.

It does an adequate job of removing makeup and any dirt or grime. I never still feel dirty after using this cleansing oil. My skin feel soft and moisturized, never dry or stretched out.

It's a little hard to find. You can only really either buy it from Yesstyle or Amazon, not a horrible idea, just I wish it was more accessible.

I'm really happy with this cleansing oil! Especially since when I bought it there were absolutely NO REVIEWS for it. After testing it out and finishing it, I am happy to report that it is definitely worth the buy.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's an adequate cleansing oil. It gets pretty much everything off in 1 go. You can see it just barely left any liquid eyeliner left. I LOVE the smell of this cleansing oil, the rose is just amazing🌹🌹🌹
I would recommend it if you like the smell of rose and want an adequate cleansing oil.
