Review: Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Ultimate Hydro Gel
Hi Everyone!
Today I will be discussing the Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Ultimate Hydro Gel.
I only have the sample/travel size of the gel cream, but it was quite a substantial amount to provide a review. I received this gel cream from my sister, since it's a gel, she thought it would be less moisturizing on her dry skin and would be fine for my oily skin.
Side note: I always link some websites where you can buy the products I mention. I am currently looking at some prices and it looks like Amazon is actually selling this gel cream CHEAPER than Sephora!!! I am talking about the FULL size version, but I will also link the travel/sample size below.
Information about the Gel from Dr. Jart+ & Sephora:
This is a gel-cream that creates a water cushion to keep skin hydrated and energized all day long.
Water Fuse Ultimate Hydro Gel is an ultra-lightweight gel-cream that instantly cools and refreshes the skin while providing a boost of hydration. This formula contains a blend of AquaMinerals that help direct the water glow, helping to maintain balance moisture levels while improving water absorption to boost visible firmness and elasticity. Belgium hot spring water and natural barrier complex aids in expelling impurities from pores and provides both soothing and antibacterial benefits. The energizing cream keeps skin looking and feeling fresh and healthy.
Water Fuse is formulated with minerals and hydrators that deliver nourishment to help restore skin's moisture levels to their optimal state. With hydration in balance, skin functions normally and is able to focus energy on fighting external and internal aggressors. The proprietary AquaMineral complex is made of exact amounts of skin-identical minerals: sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Combined, controlled osmotic pressure in skin directs water flow through waterways. These 4 specific mineral possess the ability to improve water absorption.
Good for ALL skin types!!! However, I think people with oily skin will like this gel more than someone with dry skin. It's great during the summer time, not entirely sure how it would hold up in colder, drier weather such as wintertime. Maybe it would still be better for oily skin than dry skin, especially during the wintertime. If you have dry skin and want to try this gel out, I would probably only use it during the summer time, however, for oily skin, it's great to use for anytime.
Targeted for:
- Dryness
- Loss of firmness and elasticity
- Dullness and uneven texture
- Travel/Sample Size: 10 mL or 0.34 oz
- Full Size: 50 mL or 1.7 oz
Color: pale, opaque, light blue
Fragrance: very light smell, kind of reminds me of a "Fresh" smell, but it's almost so light that there isn't a smell. Very non-descript. I think anyone sensitive to smells/fragrances would be completely fine with this gel.
Texture: Gel-cream like texture, very light-weight, very smooth. Doesn't really even feel like a cream. Not sticky at all, not to the sticky to the touch or once applied onto skin.
Packaging: The travel/sample size packaging was in a plastic thin tubing, however, I think the full size packaging is a lot nicer, some sort of nicer bottling, maybe glass or ceramic.
Notable Ingredients:
- Mineral Complex: Blended with major skin-identical minerals that help maintain the moisture balance and moisture circulation of skin.
- Belgium Hot Spring Water: Contains minerals to remove impurities from pores and provide soothing and antibacterial benefits, supporting natural cell regeneration.
- Natural Barrier Complex (Rhodiola Rosea Root Extract, Psidium Guajava Leaf Extract, Cinchona Succirubra Bark Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, and Abronia Villosa Leaf Extract): Moisturizes and nourishes dry skin; rich in tannin to prevent photo aging.
- Acacia Peptide: Moisturizes and visibly firms skin.

Here's a swatch of the gel. It doesn't really look like it here, but it's actually a really really pale light blue color, almost white-ish looking. It's very smooth as I stated earlier. Very light-weight, doesn't feel heavy on the skin or feel like you have a lot of product on either. A little bit of gel goes a LONG way! You don't need a lot to apply to your face.
How To Use:
Apply all over face morning and night after a serum.
How I Use It:
I used this both morning and night at the even of my skincare routine, usually right before I apply my eye cream.
If during the Day, then I apply this gel, my eye cream, and lastly, I would apply my sunscreen.
During the Night, I would apply this last along with my eye cream.
I also applied this cream on my neck! Always need to apply skincare products to your neck as well!!!
BEFORE
These are shots of me before I applied the gel. In the close-up of my cheek, you can actually see that I already have some skincare products on my face, there's a distinct like under my eye where most of my skincare products were cut-off because I haven't applied my eye cream yet either.
AFTER
Here's how my skin looks after I applied the gel. I feel like my pores look more moisturized in the close-up photo. I have more of a shine and less of a dull look to my skin. No real change in redness, but then again this gel isn't meant for those purposes.
Overall, I really liked this gel! I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially someone with oily skin. If you have dry skin, like I mentioned earlier, you could try this gel out, but probably more in the summer time when skin usually isn't as dry. If you have dry skin and tried using this gel during the winter time, I think you wouldn't feel moisturized enough and would need to add other creams to your skin to obtain that needed moisture. For anyone with oily skin, this is a GREAT and I repeat, GREAT gel to use during the spring-summer time! It's really lightweight, feels almost cooling and refreshing on the skin. It's not oily at all and it definitely provides the needed moisture needed and actually locks that moisture in! For people with oily skin, I believe you could also use this gel during the winter time, making it a great year round gel.
I did a little side test with this gel to see how moisturizing it really was. I wish I had pictures to prove it, but at the time I didn't take any. What I did was I applied this gel to my right elbow. I was suffering some really dry and flaky skin there, so I started applying this gel on my elbow in the morning and at night. I noticed that it kept my elbow moisturized ALL DAY and NIGHT long and my dry, flaky skin actually got better really fast! Totally passed the test!
I really like that this is a lightweight, non-sticky, non-oily gel. I hate that heavy product feeling on my skin, especially my face, so this gel was a breath of fresh air for me, or my skin I guess you could say. It applied really smoothly and as I said earlier, a little goes a long way! Even as I used the travel sized bottle, I got almost a good month's use of it!
I'm not entire sure if I see any skin firming, kind of like any anti-aging going on from this gel, but I definitely did feel an increase in my skin elasticity from using it.
I also really liked that this gel didn't cause me to break out. At first when I started using it, I thought it was causing my forehead to have little bumps, but later I found out it was due to a different product I was using instead.
Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really like this gel and would highly recommend everyone to try it out. I like the way it feels on my skin and the way my skin feels with it on. However, I would buy it on Amazon instead of Sephora because it's cheaper there!
