Review: su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick

Hi Everyone!

I know this cleansing stick has been out for a while and there's probably hundreds of reviews of it, but I've been waiting to try it out for MONTHS! I've had my eye on it for about a year before I finally bought it when it was on sale on Amazon.

Description of product:
This cleansing product is specially formulated in a stick form to directly target dirt and impurities trapped in the skin. It is mainly composed of natural fruit extracts and fermented botanical herbs that offer deep cleansing without irritation. It also supplies nutrients to improve skin texture and complexion. Recommended for oily and sensitive skin, thanks to its sebum-controlling formula and soothing effect.

Contains fermented damask rose extract and more than 90% of nature originated ingredients (Natural base).

Also contains REAL rose petals INSIDE the cleansing stick! It is said that these rose petals can have an added effect of gentle exfoliation.

Side note: I LOVE how travel friendly this cleanser it! Since it's in stick form, you don't have to worry about leaking liquids, it's lightweight, and really easy to store!

Can I just make another side note and say that the packaging is kind of nice. Especially for a cleansing stick, the packaging of this cleanser is really appealing. I like the intricate designs on the cap.

Benefits:
  • Doesn't irritate sensitive skin
  • Easy to use
  • A moisturizing cleanser that leaves skin supple, smooth and clear
  • Create fine lather
  • Doesn't dry out skin
  • Carries a natural scent of fermented rose petals

Size: 80 g / 2.8 oz.

Color: Kind of like an off-white with rose petals inside. The rose petals remind me of tea leaves.

Fragrance: Smells REALLY good, like a rose garden. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹Whenever I use it, the whole shower room has the smell of roses for about 5 minutes afterwards.

Texture: It's actually soft. It looks like it would be hard like a bar soap, but it's actually quite mushy.

Packaging: Light pastel pink plastic tubing.

Mechanism: You twist the bottom of the tube to have more cleanser get pushed up at the top.
  • Turn counter-clockwise to have product come out at the top
  • Turn clockwise to have product go down

Here's a close-up of the cleansing stick. You can clearly see the rose petals throughout the cleanser. You can even see some missing chunks of the cleanser, this is due to it's soft-mushy natural, chunks of cleanser comes off really easily.

How To Use:
  1. Slightly wet your face and tap it with your fingers to moisturize skin
  2. Remove the stick's cap and release about 1cm by turning the dial at the bottom counter-clockwise
  3. Massage your face with the stick in a circular motion
  4. Wet your face and lather. Wash off with lukewarm water
How I Use It:
I used this as my night cleanser, part of the double cleansing routine after I've used a cleansing oil, during my shower. I usually swipe the cleansing stick all over my face, you have to be kind of gentle because chunks of cleanser will come off really easily. Then I gently massage the cleanser all over and wash it off with warm water.
I did try to using a face brush to help facilitate the cleansing process with this cleanser, but the rose petals get stuck in the bristles and it's hard to get out. In the end, I just used this cleansing stick on it's own without any assistance.

Below, I am testing out how well this cleansing stick is at washing off makeup.

                                         BEFORE                                                    DURING                                                 AFTER
 Makeup used:
Left - Secret Key Skinny Real Quick Eyeliner
Right: Estee Lauder estee edit up and out double mascara

Overall, I did like this cleansing stick!

I think the only con that I didn't like was the texture of the cleanser. I didn't like how soft the cleanser was, especially to he point that chunks of it came off really easily. I feel like more product gets wasted this way which isn't good. I do admit I was expecting a "hard" cleansing stick, kind of like a bar of soap, which this is definitely NOT. Due to the chunking off of this cleanser, I feel like I ended up finishing off this cleanser a lot faster than I was expecting. I only used it for about 1 MONTH and then I was finished.

Actually now that I think about it, I also don't like how you can NOT see how much product is in the tube. So you aren't able to see how much you have left or how much you've used up. I get the feeling that the amount of cleansing stick is definitely not the length of the packaging...

Su:m37 makes a point to mention that the rose petals in the cleansing stick is a a multiple purpose of also being an exfoliant. I find this to NOT be true. The rose petals are so paper thin and soft that they literally just kind of sit on your skin when it's there. It doesn't really move around well, so there is no kind of exfoliation whatsoever.

I am a BIG fan of the smell! I love the smell of roses and this cleanser really hits the spot! Like I mentioned earlier, whenever I use this at night, my whole shower room will actually smell like roses for a few minutes. It. Is. Delightful. 🌹🌹🌹

My skin is definitely moisturized after using this cleansing stick. It doesn't feel dried out or stretch out. My stretched out, I mean that my skin feels really tight, almost like a dried out feeling. I'm not entirely sure if my skin feels "softer" from using this cleanser, but it definitely does feel clean and moisturized.

If you look at the makeup trial, testing to see of this cleansing stick can wash off makeup, you won't be disappointed! It washes off eyeliner and mascara really well! I didn't even have to go back to try and wash it off again and I didn't have to rub hard to wash the makeup off.

Again, I also LOVE that it is so travel friendly! If I were to be traveling, I was definitely bring this cleanser along!

I would love to try out more su:m37 products in the future, but they are quite expensive. This cleansing stick alone is about $30 which it quite a steep price for me. Especially since it only gives 80g and I finished it off in 1 month. My usual liquid cleanser are usually about 100-120mL sometimes even 150mL and they last for MONTHS. About 2-3 months and I usually never buy a cleanser that cost more than $20-$25, so in retrospect, this cleansing stick isn't entirely worth the price. If it were cheaper then I think it would be more worth it. Maybe when Yesstyle gets it back in stock and they have a sale on it than it would be more worth the buy.

I read an article somewhere saying that this cleansing stick goes out of stock all the time and out of season. Due to the use of real rose petals, whenever roses aren't really in season, production of this cleansing stick is down by a LOT. So it's really hard to find places that even sell it. As of right now, I think it's one of those times because I was trying to look up places that sell it and almost everywhere I looked, it was out of stock or sold out. I guess we just have to wait for roses to come back into season.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
As a cleanser I really liked that it can wash off makeup and makes my skin feel clean and moisturized. However, I really don't like that it's so soft that chunks come off, making me end up using more than usual and also finishing off the cleansing stick at a lot faster.
I would still recommend this cleansing stick for everyone to try though. I still think it's definitely worth a try, the smell alone speaks for itself.
