Review: COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence

Today I will be discussing a very popular Korean skincare product, COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence.

Don't freak out! I know the idea of snail mucus is kind of disgusting to apply onto your face but snail mucus actually has a lot of great skincare benefits!
The first time I was offer anything snail related, I was in Taiwan visiting family and my cousin offered me a snail mucus sheet mask. I was so ick-ed out by the idea of snail that I refused to try it. I wasn't until about a year or so later that I finally tried my first snail skincare product. I think it was from Mizon. I think it was the Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream.
Snail Mucin is the slime that snail produced that you see on the ground trailing behind them.
From repairing skin damage and providing anti-aging benefits to soothing irritated skin and fading acne scars, snail mucin/snail secretion filtrate, offers many benefits.

Snail mucin seals in moisture and allows active ingredients to penetrate the skin very well. It prevents dryness and makes the skin look dewy, with fewer allergenic ingredients. AKA it provides a LOT of hydration, making it a great choice for anyone who has dry skin. However, I want to note that snail mucin is typically great for ALL skin types.

A New York plastic surgeon, Mathhew Schulman, has stated that snail mucin has the ability to "improve skin texture and quality."

In addition, snail mucin has anti-aging potential! The mucous is rich in hyaluronic acid, and has been shown to exhibit antioxidant activities, stimulate collagen production, and enhance wound healing.

This COSRX essence contains 96% snail mucin!!! This means that when you look at the ingredient list, you won't see "water" as the first one (the first one means it contains the most in the product), instead you will see "Snail Secretion Filtrate."

There is a total of 11 other ingredients in this essence, all designed to maximize the benefits of snail mucin. The snail mucin in this essence is processed to leave your skin tacky.

Fragrance: none, no scent or smell. Fragrance-free.

Texture: sticky, thick, viscous. It literally feels likes slime. When on the skin, it makes your skin feel tacky and sticky.

Here's a close-up of how the essence looks. It's sticky and viscous. Like it said, it feels like slime.

How To Use:
  1. Lightly apply a small amount on forehead and around the nose.
  2. Spread and massage a sufficient amount onto your cheeks until the essence is completely absorbed.
  3. Gently dab the under eye area until essence is fully absorbed.
How I Use It:
I use this essence both morning and night right after I have finished applying my toner.
I usually only need 1 pump for my face and 1 pump for my neck. I really feel like a little goes a long way with this essence because you can massage is all around.

Overall, I really liked this essence. I've actually already gone through 2 bottles of it!
It provides great moisture and doesn't cause my skin to feel oily. Although I'm not a 100% fan of the skin tacky feeling after applying this essence, it does go away after a few minutes, it doesn't stay there all day and night.
I honestly don't know if I noticed a difference in my skin condition, such as anti-aging. I don't have acne scars to begin with so I can't really say if it helps with that either. However, I do feel like my skin was retain nutrition from this essence. 
My cheeks feel plump after using this essence.
I also like that it's not extremely expensive. If you compare it to other snail mucin products, this essence contains 96% and it's not even over $25. You can even sometimes buy it for UNDER $20! It provides great results. Usually snail mucin products that provide great results cost a LOT, usually over $50 - $100. So I really think this essence is a total steal.

Hi Everyone! I will be discussing a very popular toner by COSRX. This is the AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatment Toner . The main reason I bought this toner to begin with was because I saw a review, I don't remember by who, that said they used this toner and noticed a big difference in their skin.
