Review: COSRX AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid

Today, I will be reviewing a cult favorite skincare product from COSRX. This AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid is an anti-inflammatory acne treatment that gently exfoliates skin for a brighter complexion.

I bought this product because I saw reviews from people saying that it really helped get rid of their whiteheads, especially on their foreheads. I've always had these annoying little bumps on my forehead, however, if you try popping them, nothing happens. They're just these annoying bumps that almost never go away. I was hoping that by using this product, the whitehead bumps would decrease on my face white also brightening up my skin.

This AHA 7 Whitehead Power Liquid can be used to cleanse your pores and reduce acne spots. Contains vitamins and natural moisturizing ingredients that can refine without stimulating the skin.  Vitamins, whiteners and natural moisturizers promote cell turnover to gently restore skin health and vitality.

How To Use: After cleansing, soak a cotton pad and swipe a thin later of the liquid over the skin, avoiding the eye and mouth area. For use during the daytime, follow with a broad-spectrum sunscreen rated SPF 30 or greater.

Initial use of the product may give temporary irritation to the skin.

Begin with using the product once a week, and after the skin has adapted to it, increase the usage up to 2 to 3 times a week. On the days you use this product, do NOT use high concentration of AHA, BHA, retinol, or vitamin C products.

How I Use It:

I use this as an essence both morning and night. I applied it all over my face after I used toner, making sure to get problem areas such as acne. Usually only need 1 pump which is enough for my whole face.

My skin feels hydrated after applying this essence. I don't really see a difference from applying it yet.

Again, after applying this essence, my skin feel moisturized. I don't notice an immediate difference.

11 DAYS LATER

BEFORE

After 11 days of use, this is how my forehead looks BEFORE I applied the essence. Even after 11 days of use, I can see increase little bumps on my forehead.

After 11 days of use, this is the BEFORE I applied the essence. Even before I applied, I can tell that this essence has broken me out.

BEFORE

Although I didn't take a picture of this cheek when I started using this essence, I have noticed that after 11 days of use I have increased redness and inflammation on my cheek. This was BEFORE I applied the essence on.

AFTER

I know it's kind of had to see, but after using this for 11 days my forehead developed a bunch of little bumps. While my skin does feel moisturized, it has increased in the little bumps/whiteheads. You can see the scattered red bumps all over as well. I don't notice any skin tone brightness or evening of my skin tone.

AFTER

After 11 days of use, my cheek has increase redness and inflammation. Little bumps and whiteheads began to develop soon after I started using this essence.

AFTER

After 11 days of use, this is the AFTER I applied the essence. This essence has broken me out on my cheek. You can compare it to the above BEFORE from the beginning 11 days ago. You will see that my cheek has definitely had more break outs and it developed blackheads as well.

Overall, I hated this essence. I hate it. HATE.
It caused me to break out like no other. I've never used a skincare product that broke me out like this before in my life! I usually really like COSRX products, so I was really excited to try out this essence. However, after using it, I'm really upset that it didn't work out for me.
As someone with oily skin, a gentle exfoliation for my skin is beneficial and really necessary. I was hoping that this essence would be able to change the outcome of the little bumps all over my forehead, like the results I saw and read from many reviews. I'm sad to report that this wasn't the case.
While it was moisturizing for me skin, not drying me out or anything, I did not notice any skin brightening or evening of my skin tone. It's also suppose to whiten the skin which is something I didn't see at all.

My sister also used this essence along with me (she also has oily skin) and the same results happened. She too, also broke out and didn't notice any beneficial effects from this essence.

I hated this essence and I stopped using it after 11 days. I would NOT recommend it to anyone. I have seen a lot of successful reviews/stories, so it's really up to you if you want to use it or not. I hate that it broke me out and caused me to develop all these little bumps and whiteheads. I would hate for anyone to experience the same thing I did. Again, it's your choice, I am just giving you my opinion.
