Review: Joah I'm So Fly Brush Tip Eyeliner

Hi Everyone!
Today, I will be reviewing the Joah I'm so Fly Brush Tip Eyeliner. This is a liquid pen eyeliner from the brand, Joah, which is a K-Beauty inspired make-up brand that earlier this year released a bunch of products at CVS Pharmacy.
I bought my liquid eyeliner from CVS. There were a bunch of other products as well, I wish I took a picture of their selection, but I forgot. There are multiple different types of eyeliners: gel, felt tip, brush tip, jumbo, and pen. I don't really know what the difference is between the pen liquid eyeliner and the other liquid eyeliners...

"Joah" is Korean for "I like it."

One thing I am really drawn to Joah products is their affordability. Their products are NOT expensive at all, especially if you compare it to other drug store products or other Korean beauty products. There is also the convenience of being able to purchase it at a CVS which is all over America.

For this eyeliner, "I'm So Fly," there is also a felt-tip version, but I don't like felt-tip eyeliners, so I purchased the brush-tip.

Benefits of this eyeliner:
💮Flexible Brush Tip
💮Precise Application
💮Buildable
💮Long-Lasting
💮Water-Resistant
Here is a close-up of the brush tip. It isn't big or thick. The tip is really flexible and not painful at all.

Here's a swatch of the eyeliner. The eyeliner is really pigmented and dark. You can see there's kind of a glossy look to the eyeliner.

Color: Black

Type of Eyeliner: Liquid Eyeliner

Type of Tip: Brush Tip

Texture of the Tip: The brush tip is really soft. It isn't painful at all when stroking it along your eyes. The tip isn't too big or too thick.

Fragrance: There is no scent from this eyeliner

Packaging: Comes in a plastic tubing. It is aesthetically pleasing.

Full Ingredients ListWater (Aqua), Acrylates Copolymer, Butylene Glycol, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Alcohol, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Ceteth-10, Ammonia, Benzyl Alcohol, Acrylates/Octylacrylamide Copolymer, Simethicone, Triethanolamine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Aminomethyl Propanol, Laureth-21, Black 2

How To Use: Lightly glide tip across lid closest to the lash root. For a bolder line, add more pressure. Liner is very buildable. Add layers until you achieve desired look.

How I Use It: This is a buildable eyeliner, so I like to go along my lash line to create my cat-eye look, then I just add more onto it if I feel like it needs more or looks uneven on one side. I essentially always do a cat-eye look, so this brush tip is great for creating this kind of eye look.

Below are pictures of my testing the eyeliner on different conditions.
BEFORE - No Mascara
You can see on the picture to the right, there is some clumping from the eyeliner when I was trying to add more on top. If you look at the picture to the left, at the top of the eyeliner line, near the end of the eyeliner, it sort of has some tiny gaps because this eyeliner tends to take off a little of the eyeliner you've already applied when you go back to add more. The color is really pigmented and the cat-eye tip is on point.

BEFORE - After Mascara

After - 11 Hours Later
You can see faint black lines on my eyelids from the eyeliner. You can also see that the tops of the eyeliners have smudged a lot, causing the eyeliner to sort of fade and disappear a little at the top. The cat-eye tips have also lost some of it's pigment, no longer being as dark and pigmented as it did to begin with.

BEFORE - On top of eyeshadow
The eyeliner looks nice and dark. It was easy to apply on top of eyeshadow. It did not take off any eyeshadow and there was no clumping of the eyeliner this time.

AFTER - 10 Hours Later on top of eyeshadow
I know it's kind of hard to see because of the eyeshadow, but the eyeliner did smudge onto my eyelids, creating light black lines. The edges of the eyeliner again are smudged and have faded a bit.

BEFORE - On top of gel eyeliner that is used as an eyeshadow
(Please excuse the creepy lower left picture...)
I have these Korean gel eyeliners that are able to be used as eyeshadows as well, you just need to apply more and blend it upwards. However, please excuse the inner shiny gel eyeliner. It became kind of clumpy which is why it looks kind of weird in the photos.
This eyeliner apply well on top of gel eyeliner/eyeshadow. The color is still really pigmented and intense. It was easy to apply over the gel eyeliner/eyeshadow, even at the clumpy area.

AFTER - 10.5 Hours Later on top of gel eyeliner used as an eyeshadow
Again, this eyeliner smudges at the edges and caused the eyeliner to smudge onto my eyelids. It might be hard to see, but those creases you see on my eyelid which I have my eyes closed actually also have a lot of smudged black eyeliner in them. The tips of my cat-eyes have also faded away a bit.

Overall, this was only an okay-ish and decent eyeliner. It wasn't horrible, and for a brand that is inspired by K-beauty but isn't real K-beauty, it was impressive.

The brush tip is really soft and applying onto my eyelids really smoothly and not painfully. The color is really pigmented and dark. However, the colors does tend to fade as time goes by. The edges of my eyeliner looks tend to smudge onto my eyelids, creating black lines. The edges of the eyeliner looks also fade.
While it is buildable, sometimes when you go over the eyeliner to add more to it, you pick off some of the eyeliner you have already applied, creating some chunky bits.

Sadly, this eyeliner is NOT last me a long time (not in lasting ability, but in use over time). After a few uses, the ink was starting to go away. I would have to excessively shake the eyeliner, trying really hard to get the ink to come out. After a while, I just stopped using this eyeliner because it was such a hassle trying to get the ink to come out when there clearly wasn't much left. I think I only used this eyeliner for 1 month, and within this 1 month about 2 weeks of use is when there started to have ink troubles.

The price is AMAZING! It's under $10, and if it's on sale, it's just a little over $5 which is a complete steal to me. You do NOT see eyeliner that cheap like ever.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐
This was a decent eyeliner. It's not horrible, but I'm not sure if I will purchase it again. I really don't like when eyeliners smudge onto my eyelids (which this does) and I was really disappointed that this eyeliner doesn't last a long time in usage. If you want to use an eyeliner that isn't painful, creates great lines, and will be finished in about a month, then this is the eyeliner for you.
