Review: COSRX AC Collection Blemish Spot Clearing Serum

Hello Everyone,

As you are continuing with the reviews of the COSRX AC Collection, this next part is for the AC Collection Blemish Spot Clearing Serum.

In the past, I've only ever tried two COSRX serums: one was the Centella Blemish Ampoule and Triple C Lightning Liquid. One I really liked and one not so much. I don't have much experience with COSRX serums/ampoules. I know they have many other serums in their skincare collection, but I just have so many others to try out that I've never really expanded my collection to COSRX serums until I was sent this Blemish Spot Clearing Serum from Stylekorean (which I am extremely grateful for).

This "ultimate serum" that reduces the traces of acne is the total solution serum that not only clears all trace of acne, but also helps with redness, dark spots and scars. How To Use:
  1. Apply two or three drops onto the face, avoiding the eye and mouth area.
  2. Evenly spread and massage it for maximum absorption.

How I Use It:
I use this serum both morning and nigh after I've applied my toner and essence. I like to dot my face and neck with this serum and gently massage it all over. Also, I away go back and apply MORE of the serum on my problem acne areas, usually wither doubling or tripling up on the serum in these areas. I do this to not only add on more of the greatness of this serum but it also adds a light layer of moisture to the needed area. I then continue on with my eye and face cream.

Below are picture of me trying out this serum from the first day I had it to 10 days later.
Left to Right: BEFORE & AFTER
While this serum isn't really moisturizing, I do feel like it's soothing and calming the redness on my face. It had this like soothing feel when massaged into the skin, making my skin feel less stressed. There is a slight brightness to my skin after applying the serum.
Left to Right: BEFORE & AFTER
I notice a slight reduce in redness after applying this serum. I don't see a change in my pores. There is also a slight brightness added to my skin with the serum applied.
Left to Right: BEFORE & AFTER
I feel like I'm gonna be really repetitive, but there isn't a moisturization level to this serum, but there is definitely that soothing feeling to it that helps to reduce redness and calm the skin.
Left to Right: BEFORE & AFTER
I feel like the brightness is more obvious in this picture. You can see the change in the look of my skin after applying the serum, it's less dull and has a certain brightness to it.

10 DAYS LATER
Left to Right: BEFORE & AFTER
10 days later and I feel like my skin looks brighter and healthier. My acne areas are healing and almost gone.
BEFORE
AFTER
You can see 10 days later, between this BEFORE/AFTER pictures that my skin has definitely healed and changed for the better. It's obvious my skin is still kind of dry because this serum isn't moisturizing (really this whole line isn't moisturizing). My skin looks brighter and the acne at the back of my cheeks is essentially ALL GONE.
BEFORE
AFTER
Again, it's 10 days later and comparing the BEFORE/AFTER pictures, there's a big difference from 10 days ago. My acne area at the back of my cheeks are still slowly healing, but it's still been a big change. I don't know if you notice, but I had some hyperpigmentation on my cheek, under my eye area, and it has definitely DECREASED in color and look.
Left to Right: BEFORE & AFTER
Between these two BEFORE/AFTER pictures 10 days later after I started using this serum, I see a big difference. There's a definitely brightness to my skin and the redness and hyperpigmentation is decreased.

Overall, I LOVE this serum! While it's not moisturizing or hydrating, it's got other amazing qualities that outweigh it. I would rather a serum that has these amazing acne treatment qualities and follow-up with a moisturizing face cream, then potentially jeopardizing the efficiency of the serum by trying to add moisturization/hydration benefits to it.

I find this serum to be soothing to the skin. It really does help reduce the redness in my problem acne areas, and it definitely helps, 100%, to healing acne. It really does target the acne areas, making a difference in not only how my skin looks, but also how it feels.
After just using this serum for 10 days, I see a massive difference in my acne and hyperpigmentation on my face. I have this one old hyperpigmented spot on my cheek (as I mentioned in the above picture), and literally as I'm writing this review, I notice how much less that spot looks! It's amazing how you don't really notice it in person because it's a gradual slow change everyday, but if you look at pictures from the very beginning until now, it's a really obvious change.

I also think it's great that it brightens my skin. I see a change in brightness to my skin, making it less dull and have a certain glowing quality to it. It gives that stress-free, glowy look. Probably due to the healing properties of this serum, which is literally making my skin healthier and better as the days go on.

It's also worth noting that this serum isn't as strongly fragrant has it's other skincare product siblings in this collection.

I truly, 100% believe that this serum can be used for ANYBODY and EVERYBODY. It shouldn't just be reduced to specific skin types, anyone can use it. Just make sure you follow-up with the proper face cream for the need moisture levels.

Rate (out of 5 stars): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really liked this serum. I feel like it really does help make in difference in my skin. I notice a change in my skin that I really like and I will definitely be purchasing this serum in the future. I highly recommend it to anyone to try, although the price is less than pleasing.

  1. Hello! If you compare this to Klairs Vit C serum, which is better and what’re the differences? Thanks!

    1. I think the Klairs Vit C serum is better than this one. Only because the Klairs one can not only help with acne but also brightens skin and helps with hyperpigmentation. This serum from COSRX I feel like is geared more towards just acne.
      Hope this helps!
