Review: By Wishtrend Sulfur 3% Clean Gel

Today, I will be reviewing a new skincare product from By Wishtrend. You may know them. They have their own website/store that sells not only their own skincare products, but also some other really well known brands such as Klairs (which is a brand I love).

I have tried some product from By Wishtrend before (Clear Skin Shield Patch and Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water) and I've liked everything so far. I also have some other By Wishtrend products that I have lined up to try out, but overall, everything from them has always been really great and effective.

I got this skincare product from 08Liter.com as part of their TRY NOW campaign where I paid a discounted price of $3.99 in return for my honest review. It's usual price is $21, so I only paid about a fifth of the price for a full-size product, in other words, total worth it!

This product is special because it contains sulfur in it. BEWARE - it does have to typical STRONG rotten eggs, sulfur smell. But know this, sulfur is a well known ingredient to help take care of acne.

Sulfur 3% Clear Gel is a hydrating gel that helps with preventing acne, unclogging pores, and controlling existing breakouts. The ingredient, Colloidal Sulfur penetrates pores to dry out the skin surface to absorb excess oil and dries out dead skin cells to unclog pores. Also, for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, it clears the pores of bacteria which can cause acne and prevents the development of new bacteria on the skin.

Contains 2 hydrating ingredients - Sodium Hyaluronate and Tocopherol - to prevent dryness on the skin.

Wishtrend recommends this gel for people who have acne-prone skin, oily skin. *However, I think it's fine for anyone with any skin type to use and try out*

It comes in a bright yellow tube that you can squeeze the gel out of. The has a narrow nozzle so that you only squeeze out a little at a time. Since this is a gel texture, a little goes a long way.

I always squeeze this Gel onto a cotton swab to apply onto my face. It has a light pale yellow color, I know it's kind of hard to see from this picture, but it really is a yellow color (due to the sulfur).

Size: 30 g / 1.05 oz.

Color: A pale yellow color

Texture: Gel, smooth and lightweight. A little goes a long way, you don't need to use a lot to spread a large surface area

Absorbance: Absorbs quickly into my skin without leave any kind of residue

Fragrance: At first, when I did my first spot treatment, I didn't smell anything AT ALL! I even sniffed from the tube, and couldn't smell anything. However, as I kept using it, I started to smell that typical sulfur smell. The sulfur is REALLY STRONG and doesn't go away. It definitely does linger and when you sweat, the smell comes back hours later, it never really goes away.

How To Use:

• Spot Area: Apply on spots by using cotton swabs at the last step of skincare
• Entire Face: Spread thinly all throughout the face at the last step o skincare

How I Use It:

I use this gel both morning and night at the end of my skincare routine. I've never applied it on my entire face, I've only ever done spot treatments.

Since I knew it contained sulfur, and sulfur is hard to get the smell out of your skin, so I ALWAYS applied this gel with a cotton swab. I would just squeeze a little onto the tip of a cotton swab and lightly dab it on my face and then gently massage it into my skin until it's spread evenly with the same cotton swab.

On really serious areas, I will go back in and do an extra dab of the gel onto the acne area and leave it that way, WITHOUT massaging it in. This way it's like a mask of the gel on top of my acne overnight to really help dry out the acne.

You can see there's a major change of my acne in just 1 night! This pimple with on the side-bridge of my nose, right where the nose-piece of my glasses sit. It honestly was a major change, and the acne just finished it's life after 1 application of the Gel.

This was a cluster of acne on my cheek and I feel like there wasn't much change on the first application. I did apply the Gel to this area multiple times later on and it did help make an improvement and speed the healing process along, but I forgot to take more pictures (sorry).

This was a pimple on my forehead, and I feel like it did help shrink the pimple, but it's not completely disappeared. It did help reduce the inflammation.

Overall, I love this product! I feel like it's a really effective acne treatment product that is great for all skin types.

I find that this Gel is able to really shrink my pimples and reduce the inflammation of my acne. I don't really see a change in redness, but again, I do see a change in inflammation and the look of the acne. It really does help the healing process of my acne, making my acne disappear more quickly and heal much faster than other acne spot treatment products that I've used before.

Even though sulfur is suppose to dry out the sebum, pores, and acne, I'm fortunate that it didn't dry my skin out! Since I have oily skin, this Gel doesn't cause my skin to become dry and any way. However, I have seen other reviews where people say this Gel can be a little drying.

It's suppose to be a hydrating product, but I just find that it's just adding a light layer of hydration to my skin. It's not a lot, but then again, I only use it as a spot treatment, not applying it all over my face.

Good News! Doesn't leave a yellow stain on the skin. I know I'm yellow skin-toned as an Asian, but this gel is really lightweight and since it's a gel texture, it doesn't stay on the skin heavily, therefore, not leaving any kind of stain.

Bad News ~ it does have that classic bad sulfur smell. It's strong and doesn't really ever go away. It lingers on the skin, even once it's absorbed into the skin. Sometimes during the day (since I apply this gel in the mornings as well) I find myself all of a sudden smelling that sulfur smell just at random times, especially when I'm working out and I sweat. If I wipe my sweat from my face, that sulfur will transfer to my clothes or towel.

It's crazy, the first time I used this Gel, I couldn't even smell the sulfur! I was literally sniffing from the tube, trying to see if the sulfur smell was strong, but I couldn't smell anything. It wasn't until I used it a few more times that the sulfur smell started to kick in.

I'm super grateful to have gotten to try this product out from 08Liter and I think this is one of my most favorite skincare products that I've ever used from By Wishtrend.

While the smell is unappealing, I do think this product is incredible and really effective! It total dries out my acne and makes them shrink in size the next day. I do wish it was a little cheaper for the small amount they give, but it's definitely an acne treatment product that everyone should try out.
